Finished Pits C & D of mastaba 2090 [= G 3090]; debris of limestone chips. In D a large single black closes the entrance to the Burial.
Finished clearing space outside entrance to mastaba 2090 [= G 3090], and Pit E.
Clearing burial pit of 2091 [= G 3091] of large rubble debris.
Clearing sand from west side of mastaba 2091 [= G 3091].
Clearing sand from streets west and north of mastaba 2092 [= G 3092].
Finished work on Pits A, B, C of mastaba 2092 [= G 3092]. In Pit A, a limestone jar stopper with a good part of the plaster sealing still adhering to it.
Showed two soldiers over the excavations.
One of the mounted police told me that the First Brigade is to go on an eight days’ bivouac out into the desert, leaving here on the 8th.
A month tonight since I reached here.
Mr. Williams came up with a friend to spend the evening. As I suspected, he cannot go to Sakkara Monday. Hafiz came in and entertained us with stories of his dealings with the troops. He is a shrewd chap. I have decided to go to Sakkara with him on Monday.
