…and leg. I went down and straightened out the matter, and afterwards wrote a letter to the General Bridges, the commanding officer. According to Reis Mahmud, one of the sentries said he might pass, but the one who struck him refused to let him go by. Said Hallebi had been sent to Cairo on Monday to get a package of photographic materials and did not return until 4 o’clock this afternoon. Reis Mahmud was getting anxious, and I think he had sent a man to notify the police.
Several light showers of rain this afternoon.

The space between 2091 [= G 3091] and 3000 is now cleared.
The top of 3001 and shafts A and B of this mastaba are still unfinished. On the East side of 3001 near the SE corner is a limestone niche; on the west side an Arabic name is written on one of the blocks. Shafts B, D and E of 3010 are finished, as is also shaft B at the north end of the space between 3010 and 3020. Shafts A, C-D-E-F of 3011 contain sand, limestone and pottery debris. Shaft B and the serdab were cleared yesterday. In 3020 shafts D, F and G are finished. They were full of potsherds and limestone debris, and in D was a red polished bowl with lip, = G 20.
