A mild sandstorm. South wind.
Mr. W. Y. Evans-Wentz, of Jesus College, Oxford, and Stanford University, California, arrived right after lunch. He has made a special study of Celtic archaeology, and is to compare Celtic archaeology with Egyptian archaeology.
Fisher and I went to Mena Camp this afternoon, and Mr. Williams, Mr. Ewart, and Corporal ________ came back with us to dinner.
Finished work on pits and chambers of mastaba 3036 and 3037.
Clearing pits passages and chambers of mastabas 2081 [= G 3081], 2082 [= G 3082], 2087 [= G 3087], of sand and dark debris.
Work on object register started.
La Bourse Egyptienne [newspaper] reports the sinking of the S.S. “La Touraine” by a submarine. All passengers saved.
