Clearing street between mastaba 3031 and mastaba 3021 of sand.
Clearing sand from north end of mastaba 3001 and from north end of mastaba 3012.
Clearing chamber of mastaba 3031 of sand and hard-packed limestone debris. In debris seven fragments of inscribed limestone stela.
Clearing Pits A, B, C of mastaba 3021 of sand and limestone debris.
The mounted police told me that there was thirteen cases of smallpox in the camp, 2 soldiers having died from it.
Hafiz came up this evening, and Reis Mahmud and Bedawi came in and they all stayed till half-past nine. Last night when Hafiz went out his donkey was missing and we concluded it had gone home; but this morning it was discovered in back of the camp here.
Received six letters from Estelle and one from Grandmother A.
Wind north and cool.
