We then moved the workmen to the area between this mastaba [i.e. 7210] and Mastaba 7220. These two mastabas are attached.

(5) [Mastaba] 7220

Darwish and a crew of workmen were working on the shaft of Mastaba 7220. They were removing debris of sand, limestone chips and rubble. The debris is mixed up because of plundering activities. They cleared this shaft to a depth of 10 m. We stopped the work on this shaft because the digging equipment for deep shafts was being used on other shafts.

A crew of workmen was working to the south of this mastaba [7220] in the area between this mastaba and Mastaba 7230. They were removing debris of limestone chips, rubble, potsherds and dark soil. The debris is mixed up because of sebakh-digging activities. They uncovered on this street a mud brick wall. They found in the debris:

1 fragment of a granite bowl
1 fragment of an alabaster statuette
1 fragment of an alabaster bowl
1 faience shawabti, complete
1 head of a faience shawabti

(6) Shaft 7310 A

Yassin Ali and a crew of workmen were on shaft 7310 A. They were removing debris of rubble and sand. We found out that it is not a shaft, but a hole made in the core of the mastaba.

Today, Mourssi Hasan and Youness were digging test trenches in front of the dump.
