(7) [Mastaba] 7320

Hasan Abu Al-Youssir and Zein al-Abedeen were on the shaft of Mastaba 7320. They were removing debris of dark soil, sand and limestone. They cleared this shaft to a depth of 13 m. The debris started to change at this point.

[Shaft 7320] B

Baghdadi and a crew of workmen were on shaft 7320 B. They were removing debris of limestone chips, sand, and dark soil. The debris is mixed up because of plundering activities. The south, east and north walls of this shaft are collapsed. As for the west wall, it is preserved. We are clearing around the west wall.

(8) [Mastaba] 7331 [see note on this tomb on page 76]

Work was progressing on Mastaba 7331. This mastaba is on [Avenue G] 2. They were removing debris of sand, rubble and limestone chips. We exposed the western wall of the mastaba.
They found in the debris to the west of this mastaba:
9 pottery jars, two are broken
1 seashell
.. several small [votive] pottery cups and plates

(9) [Mastaba] 7332 [Note: the number G 7332 was later reassigned by Reisner to tomb G 7331+7332 in Street G 7300, abutting the E face of G 7330; the G 7332 described in this diary is actually G 7333 in Avenue G 2, at the SW corner of G 7320, abutting the N face of G 7330]

Work was progressing around the area of Mastaba 7332 and on [Avenue G] 2 to the west of Mastaba 7331. This mastaba is a stone mastaba located between Mastaba 7320 and Mastaba 7330. They uncovered two shafts on this mastaba.
They found the first shaft at a depth of 130 cm and identified a burial chamber.
They cleared shaft [7332] A to a depth of 170 cm. Its fill is limestone chips, rubble and stone blocks. The debris is mixed up because of plundering activities. There is no burial chamber in this shaft.
They found in the debris of the shaft:
.. potsherds
.. fragments of pottery plates
1 wooden shawabti
1 limestone fragment, inscribed
We found the head of a wooden lion figurine. We took it out of the shaft and put it temporarily aside by the shaft. When we wanted to show it to the Director [George Andrew Reisner], we could not find it. We looked for it but could not find it. It seems that somebody accidently stepped on it and destroyed it.

Here is the amount of debris moved on the western railway No. 2, given in carloads:
42 carloads until 8:00 am
148 carloads from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
146 carloads from 1:00 pm to the end of the day
336 total
