(2) South of Mastaba 1209

Barbary Ahmed and 7 people are south of this mastaba on the street. The debris is limestone chips, wind-blown sand, dark soil, and mudbrick fragments. They are clearing the street and the corner of Mastaba 1408+1409 to the east. They have not yet finished clearing the street or the corner of the mastaba.

(3) Shaft 1368 B

We lifted the bones of the skeleton in the burial chamber. There was nothing in the burial chamber. Here is the drawing of the shaft:

Monday, March 25, 1935, the Pyramids

The workforce was 7 people. We paid them their wages: a total of 210 piasters. Excavation was progressing in (1) shafts 1359 A and B; and (2) south of Mastaba 1209.

(1) Shafts 1359 A and B

Shaft 1359 A

We removed the blocking stones of burial chamber I. The debris is two large stones and [the] remains of mud plaster on top of rubble, limestone chips, and sand. The debris of the burial chamber is a layer of clear sand, on top of which there are [the] remains of human bones. They have not yet reached the rock bottom of the shaft, nor have they found burial chamber II. We left burial chamber I for drawing and photography.

Shaft 1359 B

We removed the blocking stones. The debris is two large stones, traces of mud plaster, and rubble. There is [a] human skeleton in [a] contracted position. We left it in place for photography and drawing.

(2) South of Mastaba 1209

Barbary Ahmed and 7 people were south of this mastaba on the street. The debris is wind-blown sand, dark soil, and fragments of mudbricks. They have not yet cleared the street or the corner of Mastaba 1408+1409.

Today, Mahmud Solieman Ali and Mohamed Tamamm came from Qeft on their way to Mr. Crawford on March 31.
