Said Hasan and 7 workmen were working in this shaft. They dug down 10.70 m. The debris is limestone chips, rubble, and sand. They reached the rock bottom of the shaft. They left the blocking stones in place for photography.

Sunday, November 25, 1934, the Pyramids

The workforce was 7 people. Excavation was progressing (1) east of Mastaba 1407.

Said Hasan and 7 workmen were working south[east] of this mastaba. The debris is sand, limestone chips, and dark soil. Clearance was conducted in search of false doors. Nothing was found so far.

Monday, November 26, 1934, the Pyramids

The workforce was 7 people. We paid them their wages: a total of 210 piasters. Excavation was progressing (1) east of Mastaba 1407.

Said Hasan and 7 workmen were working southeast of this mastaba. The debris is limestone chips, sand, and dark soil. A mudbrick niche was uncovered in the eastern façade of the mastaba. It seems that the niche once had a limestone lintel. It is not in place now. The mastaba is built with mudbrick cased with stones. They found in the debris in front of the southeastern niche:

potsherds

1 fragment of a pottery bowl

They have not cleared the street in front of the niche.

There was no work because of the market.

Wednesday, November 28, 1934, the Pyramids

The workforce was 7 people. Excavation was progressing [in] (1) [Mastaba] 1407 chapel a.

Said Hasan and 7 workmen were working in this chapel. It is built with mudbrick. It is located in the southeastern corner of Mastaba 1407. The debris is sand, rubble, and potsherds. The chapel’s entrance opens to the north. We found in front of its niche a limestone basin. Next to it on the eastern side, there was a limestone block with a smooth surface. We also found a pottery offering stand. They have not yet cleared the chapel. We left the basin and the offering stand in place for photography.
