Tuesday, October 2, 1934, the Pyramids

There was no work because of the market.

Wednesday, October 3, 1934, the Pyramids

The workforce is 6 people from the town [i.e., Qeft]. Excavation is progressing [in] (1) shaft 1412 B; and (2) west of Mastaba 1223

(1) Shaft 1412 B

Some of the workmen and guards were working on this shaft. Its walls are rubble on top and cut into the Gebel on [the] bottom. It was dug before to 6 m deep. They dug it to a total depth of 850 cm. The debris is sand and dark soil. Its burial chamber is to the south. It is open and some of its blocking stones are still in place. They cleared it but found nothing. Here is its drawing:

(2) West of Mastaba 1223

The abovementioned workmen were working west of this mastaba, and between it and Mastaba 1225. The debris is limestone chips, rubble, and sand. Clearance is conducted in order to draw and map the two mastabas.

Thursday, October 4, 1934, the Pyramids

The workforce is 6 people from the town [i.e. Qeft]. Excavation is progressing [in] (1) shaft 1413 B.

(1) Shaft 1413 B

Some of the workmen and guards were working on this shaft. Its walls are mudbricks above rubble on top and cut into the Gebel on [the] bottom. It was dug before to 12 m deep. They dug down to 17.40 m. Its burial chamber is to the south. It is open and there are no blocking stones. The debris is sand and dark soil. They reached the rock bottom of the shaft but have not yet started clearing the burial chamber.
