To some extent they will represent the core, which should preserve a stone cladding, but they were merely plastered with a layer of Nile mud, in the east the false door was indicated in outline; safe in an example in the north-east corner of our strip. In some cases, it may have lain around a plinth of brick. A small tomb of a child of the debris stone type features an interesting execution on the east front. Here the Nile mud layer imitates the magnificent false door or palace façade, similar to the front of the wooden sarcophagus found in the past year. The type of brick mastaba with overlaid corridor in the east and protruding niche in the south (across from the main false door) appears again in new examples. In the shaft of a mastaba (second to the south from Khnum-hotep) we found a round bowl with three feet.

H.J. negotiates with General Director Lacau in Cairo concerning the concession to the south of the Khufu pyramid, speaks to our consular agents on various matters and makes purchases. In the northeast corner of our strip, to the south of the large brick mastaba of Reisner, appears a large enclosure, also made of brick. To the southwest therefrom, located in front of the false door of a stone mastaba is a shattered panel, which, however, should completely come together. It represents the deceased, called Iiw, seated with his wife, Tep-em-nefret, beside him and his son, Nefer-hotep, in front of him.
