G 2436
Filled crude brick mastaba built against north wall of G 2428. On west is one stone course below the crude brick. Five shafts, A, B, C, X, Y. Filling of limestone chips. Objects. January 12, inscribed nummulitic limestone fragment, sunk relief.

Shaft A [G 2436 A]: Slightly south of center. Lined above with rubble topped with crude brick - but crude brick destroyed on north and south. Total depth 4.4 meters. Chamber on west, cut in rock. No blocking. Within, in debris, two complete pots.

Shaft B [G 2436 B]: Lined above with rubble topped with crude brick. Total depth 5.65 meters. Chamber on west, cut in rock. No blocking. Within, built north-south stone coffin. Without lid. In red debris traces of bones. In debris west of coffin faience cylinder beads, white, black, green. Faience disc beads, white, black, green. Faience pendant. [margin note: February 12]

Shaft C [G 2436 C = formerly G 2428 U]: Built against wall of G 2428. Lined with crude brick on west, north and east. Ends in filling. Total depth .9 meters. Chamber on east, built of masonry, roofed with slabs. No blocking. Cleared. Open and empty.

Shaft X [G 2436 X]: Lined above with crude brick topped with masonry. Located at the north end of the space between G 2436 and G 2435. Total depth 3.38 meters. Chamber on south. Blocking, one stone and rubble bound with mud. Chamber, built of masonry, roofed with slabs. Body, north-south. Head broken and resting on a stone.

Shaft Y [G 2436 Y]: North of north wall of mastaba. Ends at rock. Lined with crude brick. Total depth 1.6 meters. Chamber on west, built of masonry and roofed with slabs.

G 2437
Filled stone mastaba built against north wall of G 2445. Masonry retaining walls on west, north and south. On east wall, to south, an uninscribed stele, fallen but in place. Two shafts A, B.

Shaft A [G 2437 A]: Masonry lined. Ends at rock. Total depth 1.75 meters. Chamber on east, built with masonry, roofed with slabs. No blocking. Cleared.

Shaft B [G 2437 B]: Masonry lined. Ends at rock. Total depth 1.7 meters. Chamber on east, built of masonry, roofed with slabs. No blocking. Cleared.

G 2438
Debris east of: Objects. February 2nd. Inscribed limestone fragment one sign in relief, and another ditto. Debris on top of: fragment of uninscribed limestone offering basin (February 4th).
Debris east of, in lower strata occur passages of fine red granite powder, as through from the boring or working of granite, mixed with limestone debris (ruksh), rubble and "red debris". For further objects see G 2440 (east of).
