G 7214 G - N. A number of new pits, nine in all, have come to light to north and west of mastaba G 7214. Their relative positions are as under:

G 7214 G: This is cleared; it comprises a shallow pit 330 cm deep with chamber at north roofed over with slabs and bricks. Nothing found. The floor of chamber is 150 cm above pit floor, and height of chamber is 88 cm, length 187 cm.
G 7214 H: This is only a pit. Now cleared.
G 7214 I: Working in pit.
G 7214 J: Finished. Chamber is at south. No objects.
G 7214 K: Working in pit.
G 7214 L: Working in pit.
G 7214 M: Finished. Chamber is at the north. Tomb comprises a shallow pit with the chamber roofed over with stones and crude brick.
G 7214 N: Working in pit.
Today M. Lacau and Dr. Reisner went down into G 7410 B and inspected the sarcophagus [MFA 27.441] of the Queen [Meresankh II], and also the rest of the excavations. Certain arrangements were made in connection with the division.
(9) G 7410
G 7410 B: The stone block in the north door of chamber A was removed today, with exception of lower course of stone, which was left for photography. The core of the block was merely rubble.
