(5) G 6040
G 6040 B: Down 11.25 meters. Debris, dirty limestone debris as before.
G 6040 D: Down 7 meters and had to postpone as all the pulleys are otherwise in use.
G 6040 E: Down 10.8 meters. At 10 meters appeared the top of the doorway to the chamber on the south.
[ILLUSTRATION] The pit lining above the door is supported by a limestone slab (roofing the door) resting on a rock ledge on the east and on masonry on the west. Behind the first roof slab appears to be two or more similar slabs.
Have not yet reached bottom of pit at 10.8 meters.

(6) G 6050
Finished street in front of G 6050 as far as the south wall of G 6020. The trodden floor is on mason's debris rising like the rock towards north and 20 - 30 cm above rock. In the corner a group of about 20 offering jars [margin note: ord. R.W. and ILLUSTRATION][ILLUSTRATION] which have apparently been laid here (not thrown over the wall) many of them complete. Near these in the sand above were a number of model vessels: two alabaster saucers, twenty two small pottery saucers, and 6 pottery jar-models [ILLUSTRATION].
Shifted the gang to the area south of G 6050 and proceeded to remove the drift sand.
