No. 596: A battered knife blade of copper, with handle.

Fragments of wooden handle on top and underneath.

Under 566 east-west wood.
Treated wood under 566 and 597 with celluloid solution.

Removed 611: (1)-(7) These are the fragments of wood, leather, etc. on surface south of 521 and of 570 (east end). Underneath is gray wood from east-west boarding.

Removed east-west boarding under 566.

Removed north-south wood of knife handled under 596.

Proceeded to sweep up crumbs etc. over the area of 604, 605, 606, 609, 566, 596.

Under all this runs another layer of east-west wood (see preceding page).
