First day of work

Work on:
(1) Street G 7100 south
(2) Street G 7300

(1) Street G 7100 south
Began removing the end of the railroad embankment VII which lies in street G 7000 south of G 7142 and loose surface debris under this working southwards and down to hard Old Kingdom debris.
In the loose surface debris, a scarab, [ILLUSTRATION] fragments four ushabtis and amulets, etc.

(2) Street G 7300
Began clearing away surface debris in street G 7300 opposite north end of mastaba G 7330. Using debris to build line IX which is to reach VII at curve and q.v. out over dump I.

On the north end of G 7330 is a massive crude brick wall of Roman period. This was fully exposed.
In the loose surface debris in street (basket sifting, black dust, limestone decay), several fragments limestone statuette; fragments of faience amulets, ushabtis, etc.
