Sunday, July 9, 1939
Received a telegram from Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, saying that the Mudir, the ladies, and Miss Perkins sailed from New York to Egypt.
Mohammed Said Ahmed went in to the excavations at a late hour in the Eastern and Western Cemeteries, and found three guards sleeping in their guarding hours. Their names are, Allam Gad el-Kareem [Alam Gad el-Kerim], Hassan Abu-el-Yusr and Mohairby Mohamed [Mogareby Mohammed] and that is the third time for them.

Friday, July 14, 1939
In preparing the dining room and the veranda in front of the ladies rooms.

Saturday, July 15, 1939
In preparing Miss Perkins' room in the lower house and the kitchen. Today Mohammed Said Ahmed paid all the men and deduct the wages of a day from the three sleeping guards.

Monday, July 17, 1939, Wednesday, July 19, 1939 and Thursday, July 20, 1939
All the men in cleaning the rooms and the house and around them before the arrival of the Reisners.

Sunday, July 23, 1939
Today we start to put and prepare the decorations we are going to do, because of the arrival of the Reisners. Rifai arrived from Quft. Mohammed Said Ahmed left to Alexandria to met the Reisners and Miss Perkins on the boat.

Monday, July 24, 1939
All the decorations were arranged and they looked very nice indeed. At 4 p.m. we received an Arabic Telegram from Mohammed Said from Alexandria saying that they will leave Alexandria at 3 p.m. Train and will arrive in Cairo about 6:15 p.m. Mahmud Said Ahmed and Hamid Genawi went in town with the two cars to meet the Reisners and Miss Perkins. At 7:20 p.m. the Reisners and Miss Perkins arrive at the Camp, "Thank God, Al Hamd Lilaah". A very happy day. They were very pleased to see all our decoration done for them.
