As for the crew that was working on track II, they were dumping the debris on the embankment of the railway.

Saturday, January 17, 1925

The workforce was 156 workmen. Work was progressing on (1) Street [G] 7300; (2) Street [G] 7400; (3) shaft 7215 D; (4) shaft 7215 E; (5) shaft 7215 F; (6) shaft 7215 H; (7) shaft 7215 I; (8) shaft 7215 J; (9) shaft 7320 X; (10) shaft 7431 A; (11) shaft 7431 B; (12) shaft 7431 C; (13) shaft 7431 D; (14) Mastaba 7432; and (15) shaft 7510 B.

(1) [Street G] 7300

Work was progressing on this street, in the area to the north of the chapel of Mastaba 7310. They were removing the debris of the Roman [Period]. Under this debris, there is a layer of sand, limestone chips and stone blocks.

(2) [Street G] 7400

Work was progressing on this street, in the area in front of Mastaba 7430. They were dismantling the Roman mud brick wall. Under the Roman debris, there is a layer of original debris consisting of sand, limestone chips and stone blocks. They uncovered an inscribed false door on the north. The upper lintel of the false door is missing.
We found out that the structure that was exposed earlier is in fact part of the mastaba’s chapel. The chapel is built with limestone blocks, like the core of the mastaba. As for the columns of the chapel, it seems that they were destroyed by the Romans. The columns are inscribed with the name of Prince Men-kaf [=Minkhaf]. Here is a drawing of the mastaba, showing the location of the columns:
