(2) Street [G] 7400 (continued)
Under the Roman layer, there is a layer of original debris; it consists of rubble, limestone chips and sand. The workmen were exposing the corner of Mastaba 7510. There is a mud brick structure to the west of the street [G 7400] and south of Mastaba 7420. This structure is built on top of the Roman debris. They found in the Roman debris:
1 fragment of a faience shawabti
1 torso fragment of a faience shawabti
1 faience eye-shaped amulet
2 fragments of faience ring
1 fragment of a faience shawabti
1 lid of a kohl pot
(3) [Mastaba] 7102 [Chapel]
Work was progressing on the chapel of Mastaba 7102. They were removing debris of limestone chips, rubble, sand and mud bricks. They found in the court of the chapel two small obelisks. We then cleared some of the debris accumulated at the entrance of the chapel. We found a rock-cut statue in the west wall.
We also found a window in the west wall of the court. It is the serdab’s window. We cleared the debris accumulated on top of the serdab. We found out that the north wall of the serdab is broken through. The serdab is filled with sand, limestone chips and mud brick. We have not cleared it yet.
The corridor [layout] of this chapel is different from that of the [Mastaba] 7101 chapel. It starts [with a corridor running] east-west, then turns north-south, and bends west-east, and finally extends north-south again. But we are not sure of the final [layout] of the chapel.
