(2) [Street G] 7400 (continued)

They found in the debris of the Roman [Period]:
1 pottery vessel, with cloths in it
1 small pottery jar
1 pottery jar, missing the neck
1 large Roman pottery jar

The second crew was working on the south end of this street. They were working to the south of Mastaba 7420. They were removing debris of stone blocks, sand and dark soil. This layer of debris is probably from the Roman [Period]. Work was proceeding westwards, near Avenue [G] 2. [They found in the debris:]
1 small faience statuette of a child; the crown is broken, and the child is placing his finger in his mouth
1 faience bird
1 faience figurine of a deity with the face of a baboon
1 faience figurine of a deity with the face of a baboon
1 faience scarab, inscribed
1 faience object
2 copper pins
1 faience shawabti, incomplete
2 head fragments of shawabtis
4 fragments of shawabtis
.. fragments of faience bowls
1 limestone fragment, inscribed with the image of a bird
1 copper chisel
1 head fragment of a faience figurine
2 fragments of a faience object
2 glass geese figurines
1 faience eye-shaped amulet
1 faience ring, inscribed
.. faience figurines, broken
1 copper crown
1 faience discoid bead

Also, a crew of workmen was working on Street [G] 7400. They were proceeding southwards in order to expose the corner of Mastaba 7510. The debris is limestone chips and potsherds. The debris is mixed up because of sebakh-digging activities. They uncovered a mud brick wall. It seems that this wall is part of Mastaba 7331 [see note on this tomb on page 76].

(3) [Mastaba] 7102 [Chapel]

A crew of workmen was clearing the chapel of Mastaba 7102. The debris is limestone chips, rubble and mud bricks. The debris is mixed up because of plundering activities. They uncovered an inscribed limestone block. Under this block, there is a cornice [perhaps a lintel], which surmounts an inscribed panel. This façade leads to a rock-cut chamber. The door jambs are inscribed. We found 5 rock-cut statues in the east wall of the chamber. We also found two false doors in the west wall.
