Sunday, February 14, 1926 (continued)

Wrote canceling all engagements for today and tomorrow. We are inexpressibly grieved at so unexpected a loss. Said has been like a son to us.
The body was taken from the hospital to the railroad station and loaded on a box car at 5 p.m. Left on 7 p.m. Upper Egyptian Express. Twelve men went with it to Quft. Mahmud el Khan (Firth's reis) also went. Dunham saw to matters until all was ready.

Monday, February 15, 1926
