Wheeler drew plan 1:2 scale of wood etc. under 552b and adjoining (page 516) and added details to plan 1:5 scale on page 492.

Removed 557b: Patch wood and plaster.

Removed 570: Part of middle found embedded in ridge of gray powder.

Removed 579: Scraps of wood along south side of 570.
Swept floor to south as far as east-west boarding.

No. 580: Scrap gold and fragments plaster.

The removal of 552b has exposed a north-south line of wood running along the edge of east-west boarding, and under 552 but quite close to west wall of tomb.
