Work on:
(1) G 7000 X

(1) G 7000 X
Drew plan of (Q) inlays under 542 and on 521, suppl. to page 480.

Put in new 1000 c-p lamp in portable reflector.

Examined under edge of pile of gold sheets east of palm capital (see *A3886). The rilled stones (ii on photo) are over the discs (i). Under the edge of the sheet (iv) runs a stick of wood (iii) which appears to be associated with (S)-2. Sheet (ix) runs back under sheet (v). The F-inlays on (iv-v) run under (vi). It is quite clear that we must work off viii, vii, vi, v and iv before we can go on intelligently with iii and ii, and the lower layer of inlays.
So we turned again to the west wall.
*A3887: wood and (552 - 563), looking south
*A3888: ditto (nearer), looking south
Wheeler added details to drawing on page 281.

Removed No. 508 (111)-(117) from (Z) and (Y). These are the last overlying fragments on south along west wall.

Assigned No. 552 to the large sheets on west which covered the west long side bar of bed.
Assigned No. 553 to the northwest bronze clamp.

Cleared away dust (stained brownish with wood-decay between north end of 552 and 553).

Removed No. 554: A line of plaster size from wood, east of 583.
Cleaned up under 554 and towards 553.
Treated wooden core of 552a.

Assigned Nos. to wood on surface north of (No. 562) - Nos. 555 - 558, see page 391 and photo *A3863.
