Friday, April 8, 1910

Cooler, wind from north.

Work on valley temple. Fragments of another slate triad in northeast quarter court of niches.
Cutting into east wall of court of niches an extended burial on back, hands on pelvis, head west.
Northeast corner of temple washed away.

Saturday, April 9, 1910

Work as yesterday.

Cold raw north wind.

Discussed advisability of exploratory work at Zawiet-el-Aryan. Said Ahmed believes that owing to our reputation for knowing where things are, if we begin there this year we would have to guard the place, otherwise the Arabs would dig it out. It will I think be better to reserve Zawiet until the fall.

Sunday, April 10, 1910

Very cold raw north wind.
Men employed transporting railway, equipment etc. and stacking west of house.

Monday, April 11, 1910

Paid off the men in the afternoon and sent Said with forty-two men to Girga by night express, to work Mesaid. Rest of men kept here to finish cleaning up, etc.
Engaged Mr. Roberts professional photographer to do pictures of new pair, etc.

Tuesday, April 12, 1910
