Fine clear day. Great change in weather - milder.

News of sinking of Nuremburg.

On end of big casing block from G 5110, two lines and a bit of hieratic inscription in black ink. Beginning chipped off and writing damaged by decay of limestone.

(2) G 5110
In lowest layer of (discolored) sand in offering room G 5110, four baskets of fragments of alabaster statues, inscribed fragments with name of Khafre.

Australian fell from one-half way up pyramid I to new road at about 5 p.m. and was killed.

Work as yesterday.

Visited Sir Murdock Macdonald.

I had only a hasty look around the works at 9 a.m. and again at 4:45 p.m.

Sunday, December 13, 1914

Work on
(1) mounds of debris east of Italian dump
(2) space in front of offering room G 5110
(3) shovel work in front of G 4940

Just before noon, began marking limits of excavations, by walls and trenches in order to keep out the soldiers. They have, in spite of military orders, been going through the excavations, damaging walls and reliefs, and taking pots and skulls. We worked all the rest of the day on this job, and with the assistance of two military police were fairly successful in keeping the works clear. Only about fifty - one hundred (100) men got
